Now that the initial shock of Justin Trudeau’s Eastern Canadian victory has settled in, I think it’s important to highlight the positive implications therein.
Certainly, many of us (including myself) were motivated by sheer outrage that the election turned out the way it did, but it is not in our nature to stay in a state of anger.
As human beings, we strive to be content and to have peace of mind. That is the only way any of us can actually think rationally.
I admit every time I see a picture of Justin Trudeau, I feel a tinge of anger and irritation rise up in me. However, I also realize that such inner turmoil shuts off the part of my mind that is capable of high order thought, and in that state, I am not very productive nor do I see obvious logical truths.
My encouragement to everyone is to realize the great opportunity that is now before us and to let go of feelings of anger, resentment, and frustration. Instead, calm your mind and think about what this means is possible.
We all know from the onset that Justin Trudeau and the Liberals will eviscerate our economy, trample over our liberties, and do incalculable damage that future generations of Canadians will bear the burden of fixing (damage our children will be insulated from, if we are successful in separation). While on the surface, my initial reaction and I suspect many of yours as well is to feel outraged and irritated.
However, when you pause and think about it, you should realize the opportunity this foreknowledge affords you.
As an IT professional and a lay-enthusiast of generational theory, something I often tell people is that in the coming decade, things that seemed impossible will be commonly accepted as normal.
It is easy to feel a sense of despair that Justin Trudeau is the Prime Minister of Canada, an outcome many of us (myself included) thought as little as 10 months ago was impossible. However realize that this negative, seemingly impossible outcome sets the precedent for what equally positive outcomes are possible.
There are people who will say that Western Canadian provinces separating from Canada is impossible. A year ago, many of us were telling ourselves it was impossible that Justin Trudeau would be Prime Minister.
Clearly, the impossible is possible and when you calm your mind and do not let anger consume and control you, you can see what opportunities that reality presents.
Alberta separating from Canada is possible.
Saskatchewan separating from Canada is possible.
British Columbia separating from Canada is possible.
Manitoba separating from Canada is possible.
The probability of each of these may not be very high, but they are NOT impossible.
For each of these movements, the more people involved with a level head and emotional self control, the greater the probability of making these possibilities a reality.
Moreover, when these possibilities are realized, having done so by people of character, we will create a new way forward that will not make the same mistakes Canada did.
We will have wise governance, accountable to the people, capable of making sound, rational decisions – something existing Canadian governments at the Federal and Provincial level are completely incapable of.
